BRIEFLY ABOUT ANGELA BAKER

Angela has been interested in Russia since she was a child, not remembering exactly when she became interested, but distinctly remembering asking her mother what a communist was when she was in the fourth grade. Her interest in Russia grew through high school, so that she had decided on majoring in Russian even before graduating high school. Initially, Angela had thoughts of working for the US government, but half way through her sophemore year, she began to feel that was not where the Lord was leading her.

As a part of her academic studies, Angela traveled to Moscow for the Spring Semester of her Junior year. While in Moscow in addition to her studies, she worked with the Russian youth ministry at Moscow Bible Church. It was at this time, Angela felt called to serve in Russia. She came back to Texas at the end of the semster blessed with amazing new friendships and a distinct call to return to Russia as a missionary.

In the spring of 1998, Angela returned to Moscow to participate in an English Camp held by Student Venture (Campus Crusade's high school ministry) and to interview with the board of Moscow Bible Church. She was accepted on-staff at MBC as a female youth leader before returning to Texas.

In 1998 she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Russian from the University of Texas at Arlington and one year later, Angela moved to Moscow to begin full time work with the Russian youth ministry at Moscow Bible Church. She served in that position for 4 years before returning to Texas in 2003.

In 2007, the Lord once again provided the opportunity for Angela to return to Russia to live and serve. For one year, Angela worked with The CoMission for Children at Risk as the Network Coordinator before being asked to join the Krysha ministry team as the Executive Assistant.

Angela has served as the Executive Assistant for Krysha since August of 2008 and for Moscow Community Ministries since its inception in 2009. She takes care of all the details from the planning, to systematizing, to seeing through big projects and daily operations of the movements. Additionally, she enjoys a personal ministry including evangelism, discipleship, making an occasional wedding cake or two, baking cookies each week for small group Bible studies and the director's meeting and a hospitality ministry in her apartment.
